Not to be too picky, but this is actually a Golden Manteled Ground Squirrel. On Chipmunks the stripes continue across the face.
Watch out - the red gleam of Man Hate is glowing out of his eyes - he's about to charge!!! :^)

He did seem somewhat larger than the chipmunks I had been seeing in the area. He did take the time to strike a pose for me.
